Ormonde Offshore Wind Farm Project
Our biggest project involvement to date is our appointment as the Project Managers Engineer to provide Electrical Control, SCADA and Communication Engineering on a 150MW Wind Farm in North West England.
Our role on the project involved
- Design, Engineering and Specification of control and SCADA systems for Wind Turbine Generators and Offshore 132kV Substation platform.
- Development and implementation of the Control system philosophy and strategy for meeting Grid Code Compliance.
- Ensuring that all technical requirements of the UK Grid Code, the Bilateral Connection agreement the CuSC requirements associated with the National Grid (GBSO), OFTO and Wind Farm operator are implemented to enable the completion of the Grid Connection process.
- Provision of support to ensure that all technical requirements of the UK Grid Code and Connection agreement requirements associated with the National Grid (GBSO), OFTO and Wind Farm operator are implemented to enable the completion of the Grid Connection process.
- Working closely with National Grid, wind farm operators and owners, distribution network operators, turbine manufacturers and switchgear manufacturers.
- Responsible for the co-ordination and management of the interface of control and SCADA systems developed by the Wind Turbine Manufacturer and the Substation equipment supplier.
- Producing scope of work documentation to enable contractors to provide submissions for SCADA and Telecommunications works.
- Co-ordination of Power Quality policy to meet Reactive Power Demand, Voltage Control during fault conditions and Harmonic considerations at point of connection with Grid.
